The Youth Football Interns will assist the Director of Youth Football in regard to all Detroit Lions Youth Football Programs including; Summer Camps, Half-time Youth Football Games, 7 on 7 High School Passing Tournament, Detroit Lions Kids Club, Detroit Lions Coaching Academy and Clinics.
The interns will be expected to exercise initiative and good judgment in regard to working with children and in all Youth Football programs and football outreach initiatives.

Youth Football Duties
•Marketing and promotion--2012 Detroit Lions Summer Youth Football Camps via print, radio, social media, and grass roots methods
• Event management--Plan, evaluate, and coordinate practices, games, and special events, including set up and break down of entire camp operation, scheduling transportation, equipment distribution, etc.
o Monitor the day-to-day operations of the field. Make sure requisite supplies are available during practices and games.
o Coordinate the daily on-site camp registration process (check-in, waiver collection, t-shirt & name tag
distribution)
o Enforce safety rules, notify proper personnel when field maintenance is required, or recognize any hazardous
situations and report to the camp director.
o Merchandise/Future Camp/Kids Club Sales
o Lions Youth Football Public Relations
•Assist with other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
•Must have own transportation and valid driver’s license. (Reimbursement for travel is provided)
•Must have strong desire to work with children ages 6-14
•Must be college degree seeking, specifically in coaching, teaching, event management, marketing or sports administration
•Must have clear understanding, knowledge and passion for football – prior coaching experience preferred
•Experience in working with youth – demonstrated youth leadership skills
•Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a professional manner
•Excellent organizational skills and communication skills (oral and written)
•Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer).
•Ability to work with a flexible schedule in order to be available for scheduled events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
•Ability to lift and move up to 80 pounds (heavy football equipment)
•Ability to reach, bend, sit and/or stand, climb or balance, kneel, crouch or crawl
