The Adams Entrepreneur fellowship

The Adams Entrepreneur Fellowship is a unique program that allows young people to apply for a chance to be matched with a growing early-stage company in Southeast Michigan, providing firsthand experience as part of the management team at an entrepreneurial company. The Adams Entrepreneur Fellowship provides opportunities for fellows to engage at the management level with mentoring support from host company staff and the program’s coordinators. The fellowship has been extremely successful in highlighting entrepreneurism as a viable career choice while assisting in creating a thriving economy of innovative high-growth enterprises. In addition, the Adams Entrepreneur Fellowship is a method for enticing young graduates who have left Michigan to return and work here in a highly entrepreneurial setting. The fellows will have daily job responsibilities and will be encouraged to participate in local entrepreneurial, business development and leadership events, taking advantage of the many programs already in existence in Southeast Michigan. In particular, fellows will be given opportunities to network with one another and with other young emerging leaders in the region. Four fellowships are awarded each year through a competitive application process. Summer Opportunity with Judeh & Associates

Judeh & Associates a small commercial real estate appraisal firm, located in Dearborn since 1997, is seeking Juniors or Seniors, who have an interest in commercial real estate. The intern will accompany the owner or another appraiser on building inspections, perform research and confirmation of data, will input data in excel and a data base, participate in valuation strategy discussions and assist in preparing the final report. They do work in the entire area of southeast Michigan so the intern must have access to a car and a willingness to drive to job sites and to the location of the comparables being utilized for a specific assignment. Part Time Internship at Canton's Public Library

Marketing Intern Position The Canton Public Library’s internship program offers paid, practical experience for students. Under the management of the Department Head of Community Relations, the Marketing Intern is responsible for communications efforts, including marketing, advertising and public relations, and tracking of such. The Marketing Intern will work closely with the Community Relations Department Head and Programming Specialists to develop a marketing approach for planned library programs and services. Marketing Intern positions are reserved for students currently enrolled in a journalism, communications or marketing program at an accredited college or university. Academic credit may be earned. This position is classified as a temporary part-time position and is non-exempt from overtime and provides no benefits afforded to employees classified as "regular." The nature of the work may require daytime, evening, and weekend hours. This is a 12-hour per week position that will end December 31, 2013. Description: Assist Community Relations Department Head in marketing library programs, services and outreach. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties as assigned. Maintain media contact list, assist with media outreach. Write press releases, e-newsletter and blog content. Develop flyers, forms, displays and presentations. Employ social media and track statistics and outcomes. Prepare media packets for Library Board meetings. Work with library partners. Compile, review and/or interpret statistical data. Independently, or with others, research, recommend, implement and monitor projects as assigned. Serve on workgroups/committees and participate in library initiatives as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Current enrollment in a journalism, communications or marketing program from an accredited college or university. Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically. Working knowledge of common computer applications, including Microsoft Office, the Internet and social media. Ability to complete special projects while maintaining routine duties.
