The Library Network - System Administrator (full time)

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION Under the direction of the Technology Services Manager, the System Administrator is primarily responsible for:  Providing Microsoft and Linux server support  Managing Library computer projects  Providing support of PC time and print management software  Website maintenance  Providing secondary support to the Network Technician RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provide server installation, support and maintenance of all TLN servers 2. Manage library computer projects 3. Provide help desk support for both TLN staff and library members. 4. Provide support of the PC time and print management software used by member libraries. 5. Perform web site maintenance tasks 6. Assist with network and pc technology services provided to library members. 7. Ensure inventory database is kept updated with the coordination of the Technology Specialist. 8. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly routine tasks including daily tape backup, maintaining the backup log, and daily checking of successful backups. 9. Provide secondary support to Network Technician to provide network support including network equipment and monitoring the WAN for TLN and all member libraries. 10. Perform other duties as assigned by Technology Services Manager and/or the Network Technician. QUALIFICATIONS and NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Information Technology, preferred or equivalent work experience 2. Minimum of one network-based certification preferred (such as MCSA, MCITP, Network+) 3. Minimum of one pc-based certification required (such as A+, MCITP, MCTS) 4. Microsoft Server support experience required, minimum 2 years 5. Linux server experience preferred, minimum 1 year 6. Experience with local and wide area networks required, minimum 2 years 7. Experience managing Cisco firewalls and routers preferred 8. Experience with content management systems such as Joomla, Drupal and Wiki’s preferred 9. Experience with web programming tools such as PHP, HTML and/or Java required, minimum 1 year 10. Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends 11. Works cooperatively with a team 12. Ability to travel to libraries located in Southeast Michigan 13. Excellent communication skills including customer service skills – verbal and written 14. Excellent organizational skills and detailed oriented Salary & Benefits Salary range: $38,808-$42,217. Salary is commensurate with experience. Graduate HR Technician Part Time Position

Essential Functions: The Graduate intern will be primarily responsible in assisting the Assistant Director with the Ford BOIC Internship Program and Career Planning and Placement functions. • Attend FORD BOIC meetings as needed • Assist with the student nonprofit paperwork process under the direction of the Assistant Director • Post approved nonprofit job descriptions • Review student applications for the FORD BOIC internships • Conduct workshop presentations to enhance students resume and cover letter writing, as well as interviewing and networking skills • Review student documents (cover letters and resumes) for approval • Other general duties such as: Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and welcome and greet students, employers, and faculty • Other duties may be assigned by the Director and Assistant Director Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required, with concentration in business or similar ideal. – Graduate student with focus in business, human resources, or higher education/student affairs preferred(MBA, MA, or MED) • Experience with using Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Good communication skills, and comfort presenting to small and large groups • Ability to work in a team and independently • Willingness to be flexible to tasks that change frequently Hourly: Part time (20 hours/week) Salary: $13-$14/ hour Start Date: November 12, 2012 To Apply: Email your resume and cover letter to Farah Harb, Assistant Director in Career Planning & Placement, at ay9310@wayne.edu.
