Job Title: Financial Services Fast Track Internship

Employment Start Date: 1/10/2011

Employment End Date: 4/29/2010

Hours per Week: 8-10

Job Description: For college seniors who have already chosen to pursue a career in financial services, the First Investors Fast Track program provides an outstanding way to get a head start. This 13-week program takes place during the final semester of a student’s senior year, and is available to the May 2011 graduating class. You will attend a complete training program to receive securities licensing (Series 6, 63and MI Life). You will attend training sessions to learn about the products offered by First Investors and be paired with a mentor -- a financial services representative -- who will work closely with you to teach you the skills needed to become successful. Upon completion of the internship and graduation from college, you may be offered the opportunity to become a full-time financial services representative.

Qualifications: Strong communication skills; the ability to work well with people on a one-to-one basis; entrepreneurial work ethic. Must be qualified to work in the US without sponsorship on a long-term basis.

Job Title: Financial Services Shadow Internship

Hours per Week: 8-10

Employment Start Date: 5/16/2011

Job Description: Representative Shadow Internship is a 13-week program designed to teach students valuable business skills, while simultaneously allowing them to explore the possibilities of a career in the financial services industry. Representative Shadow Interns work closely with a licensed representative, observing how that representative interacts with clients and grows his or her business. In this capacity, you will learn how a representative organizes and updates client information, prepares investment proposals, executes retirement and college needs analyses, and prepares correspondence. Interns will also assist representatives in carrying out various administrative tasks integral to their duties.

Qualifications: Strong communication skills; the ability to work well with people on a one-to-one basis; entrepreneurial work ethic. Must be qualified to work in the US without sponsorship on a long-term basis.
