Human Resources Intern

Department: Human Resources Location: Wheaton, IL

Supervisor: Human Resources Director Duration: Fall and Winter


Principal Function:
The McCormick Foundation is seeking a Human Resources Intern to perform various HR support activities in the Human Resource Department in Wheaton, IL. Activities include: administrating recruiting files; assisting with new hire orientation; conducting background check for applicants; creating and maintaining databases, etc. Tenacious attitude welcome and encouraged as changes in the HR department allow for new ideas and opportunities to complete special projects. A high degree of computer knowledge is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:
Provide customer service to internal customers (employees) by answering questions and finding solutions to HR related problems
Assist with the recruiting functions, including scheduling phone screenings, ordering background checks, interview scheduling, and mailing job offers/declines
Revise and edit orientation handbook to incorporate “best practices”
Coordinate new hire orientation
Assist with the management of job descriptions
Audit files for compliance
Work on specific HR related projects
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Graduate level, Junior, Senior, or Graduating College Senior pursing a degree in Human Resource Management or related field
Able to work 20- 25 hours per week
Minimum GPA 3.0
Proficient with the Internet and PC’s

Web Designer/Developer/I.T. Coordinator for Vibe Live

The Vibe Live is an Entertainment Marketing business that was started earlier this year in an effort to provide services to businesses found in the Metro Detroit area. We are primarly looking to provide consulting, marketing and production services to establishments found in such industries as retail, dining and other attactions.

We are currently exploring our options for a Web Designer/Developer/I.T. Coordinator to oversee the development of a web presence.

Our business is very interactive, we would like for our site to have a consistent feel. In addition to the website, we are also looking other Marketing Campaigns such as Email Marketing (Newsletters, etc.).

The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) at The University of Michigan is an international membership organization that provides Web-based access to empirical social science data for research and teaching and offers classroom training in quantitative methods to facilitate effective data use. Position Summary
